After Kimi Raikkonen’s exhaust problem, teammate Felipe Massa aggresively step down the throttle leading a 1 & 2 Ferrari Victory. 3rd place belongs to Jarno Trulli of Toyota who gave his team their 1st Podium finish for a long time. The heroic Toyota driver successfully defended his position from a late Heikki Kovalainen challenge. The weekend ended, w/ some happy faces and sad faces in Magny-Cours, France, Sunday, June 22, 2008.
Heikki Kovalainen brought home his Maclaren car in 4th place, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton finished a disappointing 10th place. The englishman had to serve a drive-through penalty for overtaking Toro Rosso’s Sebastian Vettel in a straight-lining turn seven on lap 1.
5th place belongs to BMW’s Robert Kubica who had his Maiden Win last race in Canada. Mark Webber took 6th place and his teammate David Coulthard placed 9th. The 2 Renault Drivers placed themselves in 7th for Nelsinho Piquet who had his best result of the season & 8th for the 2 time champion Fernando Alonso.
The other Toyota Driver Timo Glock had a rough race finishing in 11th place, next to him in 12th place is Toro Rosso’s Sebastian Vettel and in 13th place is BMW’s Nick Heidfeld who had a very disappointing race.
The lap down drivers are as follows, Honda’s Rubens Barrichello in 14th, the 2 Williams in 15th place for Kazuki Nakajima and 16th place for Nico Rosberg, 17th is the other Toro Rosso Driver Sebastien Bourdais, and next to him are the 2 Force India Drivers, Giancarlo Fisichella who got 18th and Adrian Sutil who managed to get 19th place.
Honda’s Jenson Button was the only driver who didn’t finish because of an accident in lap 16th. He’ll take 20th place.
